Remembering

As the Christmas season quickly approaches (I was reminded today December 1st is on Monday!), for my family we are also drawing close to the anniversaries of a couple close family members who have passed away. One will be the second anniversary since we lost my cousin Christine on December 23rd, and the other is the first anniservary of losing my Uncle Paul. One in an industrial accident and another to cancer.

So my question for you is, how do you go about saying to the immediate family of the lost loved one "I am here for you, I am remembering you today, and I remember who we have lost". A card just doesn't seem appropriate. Nothing seems big enough. If you have suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Now back to my chili making for dinner. Paul made awesome chili. It always makes me think of him and brings a smile to my face amidst a few tears.

*This is my second post today, stop by the one below and take a read!

My mum died 10 years ago (breast cancer) and I just appreciated people telling me that they loved her and they miss her too. Some people were too afraid to approach me but I really needed to feel connected to the world. Nothing does it better than just saying what you feel.
