Shhhhh....

A friend commented on my Facebook yesterday that it's amazing that two years ago, a quiet home would have been normal. I have now been in a very quiet home for just over 24 hours, and it's a little eery. Last night I had some girlfriends over for a crafting night, so really, it's only been THIS quiet for about 20 hours. I'm ready for my people to come back.

I realize I probably shouldn't wish that so soon. This is a large treat and luxury to have this much time just for me.

So far, I have finished Grace's rag quilt, I've started on a painted letter for Aidan's room, I have worked on some knitted socks, and assembled some mail that has been LONG overdue getting to it's recipients.

I still have another 48 hours though. Who knew 48 hours could seem so long. Here's what I have left to occupy my time:
  1. Organize the nursery.
  2. Knit.
  3. Quilt.
  4. Mop the kitchen floor.
  5. Vacuum the carpets.
  6. Knit.
  7. Drink lattes while they are still hot.
  8. Re-paint patched holes in the walls.

See how only some of those items on that list are exciting? Here's my question. If you had 48 hours of uninterrupted time, where you could do ANYTHING (within reason here, I'm not talking about flying to a tropical beach), what would you do? I need ideas.

My list would be much like yours, except instead of knitting (because I don't know how) I would read an entire book!!! oh it would be wonderful. And I would have a huge emphasis on #7 from your list! :)

Enjoy your quiet time. I am envious of you.

I don't even know what I'd do... the latte drinking sounds nice. Probably wander around a book store for an hour. Sleep. See a movie? Anyway, hope you managed to have a restful / enjoyable few days on your own. I bet you're looking forward to seeing them again now though!

Hmm... this is a good one.

Paint, watch a movie without interruption, stay up really late listening to music, maybe write some poetry and have tons of candles burning where no little hands can get to them.

And then sleep in really late with a nap after breakfast of course!
