On my mind

* I'm pretty lucky to be sitting right where I'm at.
* the kids are adjusting to sleeping in the same room, and with me. Our clocks have shifted and it seems we start our day here at 6 am, which also means bedtime comes early. But the sun sets early and it all works.
* Nate arrives on Saturday. I can't wait to see him. He hasn't had a vacation of more than three days in a year and a half. He so deserves this break.
* before I left I found the fabric for aidans quilt. Was missing one fabric I particularly liked. Just found it on etsy from a woman in Illinois. I love that site.
* despite how beautiful it is here, I do miss the fall leaves. You can't beat those amazing oranges and yellows at this time of year. (don't worry, that is not a complaint!).
* I'm on the 11th colour of Graces hospital blanket. Surgery date is booked for Nov. 10th.
* I have always kept her birthmark covered and out of the sun, and away from prying eyes. I bought her a new swimsuit that lets her hemangioma "hang out". I keep looking at her when she wears it wondering how she will look without it, how big will the scar be, and how hard it will be to mot ease her pain after surgery. Big changes up ahead.
* my poor dad gets a recurring bug, that lasts 24 hrs and is similar to the flu but not contagious. It hit him yesterday so everything is moving slower around here to allow him to recover.
* we eat out on the deck. The geckos and birds are particularly fond of aidans highchair ;)
