At 35 weeks tomorrow, we have 35 days until this babe is due to be born. Being so close to term, and not much time left on the calendar, I am in full on baby mode. And all the baby prep has actually been brought on by my husband.
I could see the panic in his face when I informed him this past weekend that I had yet to prep anything for our babe. He said "no hospital bag?" Um, no. "Carseat?" I said it was in the basement. "In a box!". So, to settle the panic, I am spending this week prepping. Sterilizing bottles, pump parts, washing sheets, itty bitty clothes, and organizing the hospital bag.
It still feels a bit surreal that a third little person will soon be with us, making us a family of five. FIVE. I'm also noticing the kids are starting to pay a bit more attention to the bump I carry on the front. The past four nights Aidan has woken up, taken his quilt, and asked to sleep in the crib. Grace has always shown interest, but now has opinions on our baby's name (hello Homer?) and is drawing pictures of the babe being held and the babe in utero.
Along with all this prep comes a slew of appointments. I am now seeing our midwives weekly, seeing a chiropractor twice a week, and next week will meet up with a lactation consultant to come up with a nursing plan (the same woman I saw with Aidan - she is FANTASTIC!).
But it's summertime and there needs to be time for fun for me, and for the current two kiddos. Tomorrow is supposed to be 28 degrees. There are no appointments, and I feel like enough has been prepped, a day of play needs to be had. I'm thinking a water park, and popsicles :)
